ToGETHER!- Towards Greater Effectiveness and Timeliness in Humanitarian Emergency Response”

project in eight countries namely Bangladesh, DR Congo, Colombia, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Somalia. In Bangladesh, Malteser International and COAST Trust co-hosting the project. The three-year program aims to offer an opportunity to forty local or national organisations in 8 participating countries to jointly develop and undertake capacity strengthening and exchange measures in order to reinforce their institutional and operational capacity to effectively respond to humanitarian crises. In Bangladesh, 5 Local Humanitarian Partners (LHPs) are on board from the different areas of the County. In Bangladesh this project has targeted for implementation in 4 divisions, Chattogram, Barisal, Khulna and Rangpur Division. ToGETHER Project support local actors to strengthen their capacities in humanitarian response, preparedness, coordination and advocacy..

Global Conference:

Mukti Foundation has membership of various alliances and donors of which one of the most important alliance is ToGETHER. The main objective of the alliance is strengthening the capacities of local actors in the fields of humanitarian assistance, preparedness, coordination and advocacy. In contineution of the activities of the alliance, Gobinda Kumer Ghosh, Director and Joseph Mondal, Program Coordinator of Mukti Foundation participated a Global conference on Localization of Humaniterian Aid organized by ToGETHER supported by Malteser International, Germany. The global conference was held in Bonn, Germany and duration of the conference was from 23 October to 31 October, 2022. The total 104 participants from 40 organizations of 8 different countries such as Bangladesh, Pakistan, Myanmar, Ethiopia, Rep. of Congo, Somalia, Indonesia and Colombia were participated in the global conference. At the end of the global conference we visited Malteser International Head office in Germany.

Primary Education Development Program-4(PEDP-4) Project:

Education is the backbone of a nation. To provide primary education as second chance opportunity for the out of school children (dropped out and never enrolled) of 8-14 years age group through Non-Formal Education system and to bring them into the mainstream of formal education system, Mukti Foundation started education program in January 2021 and to be continued up to 30 June, 2023. Through this program Mukti Foundation has been running 62 schools in Paikgacha, Khulna with the financial assistance of Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, Govt. of Bangladesh. The main activities of the program are i) Organize social mobilization, advocacy dissemination, training, workshop, seminar, orientation etc at field level, ii) Conduct baseline survey, mobilization, learner selection and center establishment iii) Coordinate with local Administration, local government institutions, NGOs, CBOs service providers, stakeholders and community people for successfully implementation of the project, iv) Form CMC at each center as per baseline survey, v) Recruit teachers and Supervisors,

International and national networks:

Experiences with institutional and other donors ToGETHER, Manusher Jonno Foundation-DFID, European Union, Unicef, Misereor, UNDP, Bangladesh Government, Cooperation with others and membership in networks (networks, organizations, governmental entities, etc.) ADAB, NGO Forum, BASF, Bangladesh Wash Alliance, Watch Network, Sanjog.

Arsenic Risk Reduction Project (ARRP):

Safe drinking water and sanitation is a common problem in our community and the same also in this area. Arsenic is another crucial problem which is very much dangerous for the human being. With the financial assistance of NGO Forum for Public Health Mukti Foundation has performed software activities. Besides this due to water born disease poor people lost significant time for rest. Through this program it was found that people become aware that reduced the common diseases which undoubtedly create and impact on poverty alleviation. To provide safe water to the arsenic affected population in Upazila having Union(s) more than 60% arsenic contaminated as identified by the situation analysis of arsenic mitigation 2009 by DPHE and JAICA, Mukti Foundation started ARRP program in Jashore, Narrail, Magura and Jhenaidha districts with the financial assistance of DPHE, Government of Bangladesh. The program started in 1 January 2021 and be continued upto 31 December, 2022. The main activities under the program are: i) Team Mobilization, ii) Conduct Training for field tester, iii) Supply tube well water arsenic test kits, iv) Tube well water arsenic test and red colour of arsenic contaminated water tube well and green colour of arsenic risk free water of tube well. v) Community awareness about arsenic vi) Monitoring of the Arsenic screening activity, vii) Coordination with DPHE, viii) Supervision and Quality Control.
